 Root Canal Therapy allows your tooth to be saved and eliminates the need for more costly procedures such as dental implants. There is an area at the core of your tooth that is referred to as the pulp, where blood and nutrients circulate to keep the tooth alive and healthy. When the pulp is damaged, it leaves the tooth susceptible to infection and can result in swelling, pain, bone damage and tooth loss. To save the tooth and prevent further damage, a root canal may be needed.

Why should you should see a Dental Hygienist?  Gum disease (also called Periodontitis), is a bacterial infection caused by plaque and tartar that damages the teeth, gums and bone. The earliest stage of gum disease is called Gingivitis, a common condition that is usually detected by minor bleeding when brushing and flossing. This is caused by bacteria seeping under the gum line, but can be controlled with proper oral care and regular dental appointments. You can prevent gingivitis and periodontitis by proper brushing, flossing and scheduling regular dental cleanings with a Dental Hygienist.

  Early detection is crucial for the treatment of oral cancer. During your routine dental appointment, your dental hygienist will exam your mouth, head and neck to check for any abnormalities. Symptoms we may look for include swelling, enlarged glands, ulcers and changes in texture inside the mouth. To help support your oral and overall health, book an appointment with a dental hygienist and ask about oral cancer.   

  Generally, children should see the dentist once their first tooth makes an appearance! If your child missed this opportunity to come in, bring your little one in for an introduction to the office and to have their teeth and gums examined by our professionals.
